Hello friends!

I am excited to officially launch this first issue of my professional newsletter. You are on this list because 1) I’ve known you for a long time, 2) you are a colleague, or 3) you’ve been a part of or expressed interest in my work over the years.

I promise I won’t flood your inbox, and I hope each newsletter issue is meaningful, helpful, and supportive in some way.

Recently, I have been inspired to expand my work beyond the therapy and supervision practice that has been the bulk of my work for over twenty years. In the past year, the pandemic has led to a sharp increase in mental and emotional suffering, and many people are struggling to access help because providers are overbooked. I know this first hand, as I regularly turn away multiple requests per week—often knowing that other providers are equally unavailable.

Depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and substance abuse are on the rise. Relationships are being tested like never before. Burnout rates are through the roof, and the challenge to balance work and home obligations, particularly for women, has intensified. Social distancing has meant that we are facing these stressors in isolation. And now, as we are entering the long-awaited return to “normalcy”, we have new anxieties to overcome, and new norms to establish.

In response to the heightened need for support, I have developed Reboot: a series of engaging, self-paced e-courses designed to offer guided professional support on-demand. All courses are roughly one-hour, and are divided into several short episodes. Additionally, they include resource materials like digital and audio downloads that you can work through on your own time and have as a resource forever.

The first e-course in the series is called Resilience, and it is designed for individuals looking for immediate mental health support, and for organizations looking for a mental health resource for their greatest commodity: their people. Currently in post-production, Resilience will be available early this summer.

Whether you need help for yourself or a loved one, or want to support your clients, patients or personnel, I am eager to share Resilience with you! In this course, I teach about the importance of a full and robust emotional range; I offer guidance in recognizing and understanding depression and anxiety; and I teach concrete skills you can use to empower yourself to start feeling better. I also debunk the most common myths that block people from getting the help they need and deserve; myths like “I should be able to do this alone” and “maybe it’s all in my head.”

Please keep an eye out for my Resilience release announcement, and reply to me here if you’d like early access!

Thank you for being here, and I am excited for the journey ahead…

Yours in resilience,
